The Love Of Siam


The Love of Siam is a 2007 Thai romantic-drama film, written and directed by Chookiat Sakveerakul. A multi-layered family drama, a groundbreaking element of the story is a gay romance between two teenage boys. It was an entry for the 2008 Oscar Awards for Best Foreign Film along with our very own Ploning starring Judy Ann Santos.

    The guy who plays Mew is Pitch Hiranyawongkul. He was my student when I taught ESL in Chiang Mai, Thailand at Montfort College. He was a very quiet, yet studious student when I taught him in 7th and 8th grade. Never thought then that he would pursue a career in show business.

    sana naging part na lang ako ng movie...na ako yung isa sa mga bida...para maranasan ko man lang minsan na nagmahal ako ng lalaking gusto ko tapos gusto rin nya ako..... sana bago ako mawala sa mundo malaman ng lalaking mahal ko na sobrang gusto ko sya,,,at hindi ko pinagsisisihan na mahal ko sya....kahit nandidiri sya sa akin kahit ayaw....minsan kasi kahit sabihin mong tama na ...ayaw muna ...pero pag alam mong mahal mo talaga...wala ka nang magawa kung mahalin talaga sya....ang hiling ngayong darating pansinin naman ako ni rocky kahit hi lang ibigay nya sana sakin kahit pabulong ..hi...tapos pede na akong umalis ...kaya jesus ingatan mo ang taong mahal ko...lagi mo syang gawing masaya...lagi mo syang gawing malakas...jesus a billion thanks to you ...dahil pinakilala mo sya sa akin ...sa pag alis ko ...babaunin ko yung minsan mga titig nya sa akin .....hindi ko mamaklimutan ang magagandang matang yun....shingkit at parang laging may gustong sabihin ..salamat ng marami panginoon..dagil hinayaan mong makilala ko si rocky ...

    this is a wake up call for me, untill now, pinahihrapan ko sarili, trying to keep what's the real me. kahit na napapancn na ng ibangb tao, i still living on denials. Mas lalao akong nahihirapan kapag nakikita kop ang taong ka-close ko with someone, and ang hirap pa non, katulad ko rin ung someone na un, lagi kong cnasabi sa sarili ko, "you are one dumb stupid" na sana, kung hinid lang ako takot harapin ang sarili ko, sana sa akin cya at hindi sa iba. Ewan, natatakot kasi ako ow wwill they going to treat me if ever na sabihjin ko sa kanila ang totoo. untill now, di ko parin alam kung paano, kung kailan at kung sino ang makaktanggap sa akin.......

    It wasn't really a Love Story rather a Story of Love. Love of Grandparents to their grandson, Parents to their son, Friend to Friend, Male to Female and Male to Male. People should widen their mind and stop stereotyping. People should respect the relationship between two same gender, because no one can understand better than that two people.

    Does Pchy Hiranyawongkul a good student and classmate? I am really a big fan of him! He has a quality voice! Too bad I wasn't able to see him during my trip to Thailand! Chok dee na khub! :)

    this is my 2nd most favorite thai movie after crazy little thing called love... but, this is the best thai movie that I've ever seen... greatest story, simplicity, amazing and cinematography, critically acclaimed, characters are highly recommended...

    ==> Yes, he was a very good student...very quiet most of the time. In his class he was one of the few who could speak English fairly well. He's based in BKK now but i know that he goes home to Chiang Mai especially during the holidays. If you ever find yourself in CM during a long holiday period (Songkran, Loi Krathong, etc) you may want to hang around Niminhaemin Rd if you want to try your luck at catching a glimpse of him. He loves to hang out around the area where iBerry is.

    great thai movie... first, i wasn't impressed by the acting of tong and mew... but i can feel the innocence of both characters... what i actually commend in this movie are the lessons inculcated... love was given a deeper understanding...

    So I have one question.If we can love someone so much, how will we be able to handle it the one day when we are separated? And, if being separated is a part of life, and you know about separation as well, is it possible Tong, that we can love someone and never be afaid of losing them? At the same time, I was also wondering. Is it possible that, we can live our entire life without loving anyone at all? That's my loneliness. I have lived with it now for 5 years, I know just how bad loneliness feels. I fear it will continue to get worse. - Mew

    I so love this movie talaga. First time ko pa lang napanood, nalove ko na agad sina Mew at Tong especially Mew. Sana makakarating din si mew/Pchy sa Pilipinas just like Mario/Tong. I am also looking forawrd to the part 2 of this movie. Sana magkaroon.

    I love this movie.The plot is so simple but touching.It is hard to find someone like him nowadays where everyone loves to hook-up.But one is thing is for sure, love is in the air.I want to fall in love again not with the perfect man but with the right guy..Kudos..

    Hi my name is kim and I want to share my story about my rel. to a boy..It started then when I included in a music competition in our school. Music does define what you will in many ways...I really appreciate this movie because of its orientation about sexes and how to deal with different situation in any situation..Love has definitely the outstretch of different flavors through out gender...I remember when we first thought and text each other. our love story just continue today in special way eventhough hes from away from me now..but it seems never the less distance is no the hindrance in loving

    how i wish it can happen in real life,among my past relationship i had one ideal love almost like to the love felt by this two character but because of fear i let myself go and try to take a straight way and now at a times i remembered it i regret what i have done and ask why life is unfair......


    probably if only i can live in a place that no one knew me, probably i can have this kind of love

    The movie is perfect and they defined love in many aspect that doesn't influence the mind of the young generation..

    It could be love to parents,classmates,friends,someone special and the love of being accepted by the society despite of who you are...

    hay'z grabe pang iLang uLit ko ng pinanuod to..pero d ako nagsa2wa..sobrang ganda ng story d nka2sawang uLitin..hayz nka2iyak man..pero un ang tama..grabe naiyak na2man ako..every time na pinapanuod ko to naiiyak ako..i really love this movie tLga..i love mew and tong..huhuhu..ka2iyak tLga..super nice ng story..bastah mahal ko tong story na to..wLang kapantay..at sobrang ganda ng mga song..khit d ko maintindhan..pag pa2king pero maganda ung lyrics ska ung pag kanta ni mew..grabe..super idol ko tong movie na to..obsessed ako sa kwento na toh..huhuhu.. i really love this movie THE LOVE OF SiAM..number 1 in my heart this movie..khit maLungkot ang ebding but stiLL favorite ko to number 1 story for me :)

    This was one of the best love stories I've seen. I stand and applaud the actors of this story. I was moved emotionally and mentally. I was torn left and right, trully moved by the show. Best wishes for the performers in their career.
